Travelling to Europe anytime soon? Plan a quick drop-in to some of Europe’s top bakeries if your itinerary includes any of these lovely cities. There’s something for everyone- from pastries to chocolates and eclairs, fresh baked loaves, croissants, doughnuts – absolutely drool-worthy!
So here’s our list of must touchdowns when visiting these major European cities:
Must try the custard doughnut at St. John’s Bakery on Druid Street-London. Try many different jam filled and flavoured doughnuts and cakes. Definitely a little expensive but worth making one trip if you are in London for a few days.
Indulge into the most artsy and delicious pastries with a good cup of coffee at My Little Patisserie in Amsterdam. They also do workshops for those of you interested in improvising your baking skills.
But highly recommend that you try some pastries and eclairs in this very chic cafe with nice window seats watching the passers-by buzz along the busy Amsterdam streets.
And if you care for something more traditional then do visit the Patisserie Holtkamp which is popular for serving the Dutch royalty with its savoury dishes and serves some of the most amazing cakes in Amsterdam.
It is a tad bit expensive but then all good bakeries in Europe are; but the cakes are heavenly pretty.
Du Pain et des Idees in Paris is where you should head for some delicious croissants in all of Europe. The baking aroma especially during breakfast hours is divine. Enjoy a hearty breakfast – croissants, escargots, tarts with coffee to go.
Walk down the 10th; there are Metro stations nearby. Highly recommended by Yelp when in Paris.
